26-year-old killed in criminal shootout
The 26-year-old was initially in critical condition, according to media sources, and was later pronounced dead.
Muhammad Saghafi, 26, was killed late Monday night in a shooting incident in Jaffa, Israel Police announced.
The circumstances were criminal. During the shootout, two men were injured: Saghafi and a 32-year-old man who was lightly injured.
Both were evacuated for further medical assistance, where staff eventually announced Saghafi's death.
Initial police estimates are that the shooting took place due to rival gang disputes.
Saghafi is the 94th victim of the extreme rise of crime-related violence in the Arab sector this year, per the tally of the Abraham Initiatives, a coexistence nonprofit that tracks Arab sector crime rates. Since January, 46 victims were under the age of 30.Alon Hachmon contributed to this report.
