Police investigate three separate murder incidents in Israel between Sunday and Monday
Police opened investigations into all three incidents that occurred between Sunday night and Monday morning.
Three people were murdered in separate incidents in Israel between Sunday night and Monday morning, according to multiple Israel Police reports.
The first incident saw a 28-year-old resident of Umm al-Fahm, who is under suspicion of murdering his mother, 60, and stabbing his heavily pregnant wife, a police statement said. The pregnant woman is in moderate condition.
The suspect had also attempted to harm police officers who arrived at the scene. Police initially found the suspect inside his apartment, covered in blood, and he attempted to attack police with a sharp object, according to the statement.
Police were able to detain and arrest the suspect. Upon conducting more searches at the scene, police found a small child sleeping in his bed in a separate room and transferred him to welfare authorities.
An investigation was opened into the incident, and police will ask the court to extend the arrest of the suspect.
Second murder of the night happened in Jezreel Valley
The second person murdered was a 27-year-old man who was shot in Daburiyya in the Jezreel Valley. A 22-year-old was also mildly wounded in the incident. The older victim was initially in critical condition before being pronounced dead at the hospital.Police opened an investigation into the incident and began looking for suspects in the shooting, stating that the background of the incident is likely criminal.
Third murder occurred in Tiberias
The third person who was killed was a 21-year-old who was shot in Tiberias and was later confirmed dead at the hospital. The victim was a resident of Kfar Hitim.Police began an investigation of the incident.
