Autism

Autism is a label referring to the many neurodevelopmental conditions that span the autism spectrum.

While known to experts by name since the early 20th century, the condition has been plagued by numerous misconceptions and misunderstandings in the popular consciousness.

These include misconceptions about what symptoms are, what causes autism, possible cures for autism and more.

Autism itself ranges the spectrum and autistic people can display a wide range of symptoms and levels of functionality. Today, it is widely recognized as a type of neurodivergancy.
