International Women’s Day

The Tel Aviv event, supported and hosted by Point at Azrieli, was organized by WIT-Israel director Jenyfer Jerbi, who co-founded the Israeli branch in 2020, during COVID.

The works in “Pictures from a Woman’s Life” reflect the artist’s voyage during her life as far as dealing with femininity, specifically the complexity between intimacy and loneliness.

The project emerged from a sense of disappointment at the international community's failure to address the sexual violence perpetrated against Israeli women.

The distinctive vulnerability of women and girls during armed attacks was exposed on October 7, but so too was the strength of the women of Israel. 

The campaign video contains footage of 14 women pacing around in cells, while text flashes by, asking viewers if they are able to "ignore them now."

Today, on International Women’s Day, I look past the names to find out a bit about each woman, whose whereabouts have remained unknown since their brutal kidnap on October 7.
